Journalism Programs Adviser | Platte County High School
I have been the journalism programs adviser at PCHS since 2022. I teach Journalism 1, Newspaper, Broadcast, and Yearbook, known collectively as Pirate Press. Our journalism programs have received honors at the city, state and national levels under my direction, including the All Missouri Award for our broadcast program, the Walsworth Gallery of Excellence for yearbook, and the Ron Clemons Leadership Award for newspaper. Two of my students have also been named to the Missouri All-State Journalism team.
I studied journalism at the University of Missouri's School of Journalism, where I received my bachelor's and master's degrees in Journalism with an emphasis in strategic communication, and completed my teaching certification through UCM.
I am a 2013 graduate of Platte County High School, spending my elementary and middle school years at Barry. Once a pirate always a pirate!
