Connor Callahan
Assistant Director of Bands
Platte County High School/Platte City Middle School
Mr. Callahan is excited to be working in the Platte County R3 School District as the Assistant Director of Bands at Platte County High School. He teaches at both Platte County High School and Platte City Middle School. Mr. Callahan began teaching band in 2015. He has previously taught at Carthage R9 School District for one year and Grandview C4 School District for five years.
Mr. Callahan graduated with a Master of Science in Education in Educational Leadership from Northwest Missouri State University in 2022, a Master of Music in Music Education from Kent State University in 2019, and also with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree from Pittsburg State University in 2015. During his collegiate career Mr. Callahan served as a Drum Major and Section Leader in the Pittsburg State Pride of the Plains Marching Band, he played Lead Tenor Saxophone in the Jazz Ensemble during every of his undergraduate work, and he was first chair clarinet in the top Wind Ensemble. Mr. Callahan graduated Summa Cum Laude with Departmental Academic Honors from Pittsburg State University.
Mr. Callahan lives with his wife Hillary and his daughter Emma, who was born in 2017, in Overland Park, Kansas. Mr. Callahan is incredibly excited to continue to work at Platte County R3 School District with his tremendous students and colleagues!
