In the fall of 2004, I began my teaching career as a 7th grade World History teacher at Platte City Middle School, where I taught until 2020. I began my coaching career as an assistant wrestling coach for Mid-Buchanan high school in 2003, and have extensive experience coaching football, wrestling, and track and field; serving as assistant Platte County High School (PCHS) football coach from 2004 to 2016, assistant PCHS wrestling coach from 2004 to 2020, assistant PCHS track coach from 2004 to 2009, and head PCHS track coach from 2010 to 2020. I received my Master of Education in Secondary Administration in 2007, and Master of Education in Athletic Administration in 2009, from William Woods University. I'm a 1999 graduate of Smithville High School and a 2004 graduate of Northwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Middle School Education/Social Studies (where I was a three-year letterman in football). My wife, Lacey, a 2004 PCHS graduate and parent educator for PCR-3, and I have been residents of Platte City since 2004, and keep busy raising our three sons, Jack, Gus, and Lane.
