Hello! I am Wendy Assel, and I have been teaching in the Platte County School District since the Fall of 2008 and began my teaching career in the Kansas City Missouri School District. Growing up in the smaller town of Hot Springs, Arkansas, my initiation into the teaching profession in the inner city was eye-opening, character-building, humbling, and motivating. I enjoyed my time there and gained many enriching skills through my personal training from Scholastic profressionals who taught me the ins and outs of the Read 180 program. I remained there for seven years before finding my home at PCHS.
My husband, Henry, and I have four children and two grandchildren. Our two youngest children (Maggie and Aiden) attend PCHS, as well. When I'm not at school, I enjoy getting outside, hiking, camping, and vanning, as well as reading and, of course, playing with my grandkids.
