Future Business Leaders of America


Platte County FBLA is a high school student business organization whose mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. FBLA is the largest and oldest business student organization in the world! A quarter of a million high school and middle school students, college and university students, faculty, educators, administrators, and business professionals have chosen to be members of this premier business education association preparing students for careers in business. If you are interested in developing leadership, communication, and team skills, or simply looking for an organization to meet and network with others at the local, state and national levels, then FBLA is the organization for you.

Meetings: Chapter meetings will be held twice a month in Room 21 at 7:00 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Check the school announcements, FBLA Remind 101 Reminders, FBLA Twitter Account, Website and Facebook page and the FBLA News Flash (Bulletin Board) for more information. Some FBLA activities will take place during school, in the evenings and/or on the weekends.

Participation: High School students ranging from ninth grade to seniors are eligible to become a member of the Platte County FBLA Chapter. Students seeking to become a member must have completed or are completing at least a semester in any Business/Marketing course including Accounting I, Advanced Marketing, Business Law, Business Technology, Computer Applications, Desktop Publishing, Keyboarding, Marketing I, Personal Finance, Principles of Business, Web Design and many others. Students who have completed a Junior High Keyboarding course are allowed to join FBLA. This will meet the requirement of one semester in a business class.

Activities: Activities include attending the National Fall Leadership Conference, adopting a family at Christmas, competing in the District and State contest in the spring, competing in the National contest in the June/July, walking in the Great Strides Walk in May, fundraising events and more!

Dues: Dues are $30. The fee includes the Platte County FBLA T-Shirt and local, state and national dues.
