Tori (Victoria) Tessmer
English Language Arts Teacher
Platte County High School
Once a Pirate, always a Pirate! After graduating from PCHS, I went on to receive my Bachelor's in Secondary Education: Language Arts from the University of Missouri (2016). I decided to return to school after coming back to PCHS, and received my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Emporia State University (2022). After starting my teaching career in 2016, spending time in both rural Missouri and suburban Kansas, I am very excited to be back home as an English Language Arts teacher.
Together, with a team of amazing and creative teachers, I am committed to preparing my students for success in life by providing meaningful experiences in a safe and caring environment. I have a passion for helping all of my students reach their potential, understanding that each student has their own needs and pacing. Ultimately, each learner's personal best looks different, and that's okay! We're going to learn from taking risks, making mistakes, and understanding that learning is a process that we're going to do together! I love wearing my black and orange again because it's always a great day to be a Pirate!
